Who We Are

Empowering Underserved Children with Digital Skills for a Brighter Future

Kotlead Children’s Tech Education Foundation was created to give kids from all backgrounds a fair chance to learn about technology. We believe that every child should have access to quality education and the tools they need to succeed, no matter their circumstances. By providing digital resources, devices, and supportive programs, we help these children build confidence, learn new skills, and prepare for a bright future.

Mission

To bring tech skills to children in underserved communities and build a path to opportunity through practical digital education.

Vision

A world where every child has access to the skills they need to succeed, regardless of where they come from.

Values

Our values reflect our commitment to empowering children through education. We believe in inclusivity, respecting and supporting every child in our programs. Through innovation, we use creative methods to make tech learning engaging and relevant. Collaboration is at our core; we partner with communities and organizations to reach and support as many children as possible.

Our Great Journey so far!

Building a Future Where Every Child Thrives in Tech.

2023 - Nov

The idea for Kotlead Children’s Tech Education Foundation was born from a desire to give orphaned children something lasting—something beyond temporary gifts of food, clothes, or holiday programs. We wanted to provide them with a sustainable skill that would empower them throughout their lives. We envisioned giving them a gift that keeps on giving: practical tech knowledge that can open doors and create opportunities long after they leave the orphanage.

2024 - Mar

Our research into orphanages in Port Harcourt confirmed a gap: few, if any, programs were focused on tech training for these children. Kotlead Limited, our parent organization, stepped up with a unique project development plan to support this vision. After several meetings with department heads, it became clear we could do something remarkable. Kotlead proposed to build a robust learning platform specifically designed for children in orphanages—one that didn’t rely on internet connectivity or paid courses. This platform would provide a tech education hub that these children could access freely, setting them up with valuable skills for the future.

2024 - Jun

We started the registration process to officially establish Kotlead Children’s Tech Education Foundation as a non-profit, non-governmental organization under Nigeria’s Corporate Affairs Commission. While handling the registration, we also reached out to an animation company and began recruiting tech experts to record age-appropriate tech courses for children aged 5 to 18. During this period, a meeting with Mrs. G of the Keeping It Real (KIR) Foundation opened our eyes to another reality: there were children in the slums with even fewer opportunities than those in orphanages. After visiting the Borokiri slum, we realized the urgent need to broaden our focus to include “underserved children”—those who lack the basic educational resources available to many middle-class children.

2024 - Sep to Now

With a refined mission, we mapped out our organizational plan and created a roadmap. Our pilot programs launched at Success Model Primary School at Baptist Waterfront Setaripolo and Divine Benevolence Care Organization in Rumuodimaya. Since then, we’ve set up workstations, provided volunteer support, and offered tech education to underserved children in four different locations. Our team is working tirelessly to complete the learning platform that will be preloaded onto devices we plan to supply, ensuring uninterrupted access to tech courses. We are also pushing forward with course recordings, ensuring that the content is both engaging and suited to our young learners.

Lifting a child through Tech education is the greatest gift we can give; it changes their future and strengthens our world.

Our Impact

Before establishing the Kotlead Children’s Tech Education Foundation as a dedicated arm for empowering underserved youth through tech education, the broader Value360 Empowerment Initiative focused on addressing the immediate needs of vulnerable communities. Through impactful campaigns like Feed A 100 and Cloth-A-Child, we provided essential support to underserved families in slum communities and orphanage homes in Rivers State. These projects laid a strong foundation for our current mission, demonstrating our commitment to fostering hope, dignity, and opportunities for those in need.

Feed A 100

Launched in July 2020, the Feed A 100 campaign addressed the pressing issue of food insecurity in underserved communities. Coordinated under the Value360 Empowerment Initiative, this project provided nutritious meals to vulnerable families in slum areas and orphanage homes across Rivers State.

The campaign not only ensured that children and their families had access to vital sustenance but also created a ripple effect of hope within the communities it touched. Feed A 100 reinforced the importance of addressing basic needs as a stepping stone to building stronger, more resilient communities.

Cloth-A-Child

In February 2023, the Value360 Empowerment Initiative launched the Cloth-A-Child campaign, a program aimed at restoring dignity and comfort to underserved children. By distributing quality clothing to children in orphanage homes and slum communities, the campaign addressed a fundamental need often overlooked in marginalized populations.

Cloth-A-Child went beyond merely providing clothing—it gave children a renewed sense of self-worth and confidence, helping them face daily challenges with dignity.
